The Second Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University has brought previously separate services for international patients into a coordinated pathway. A university report dated October 2, 2026 describes online appointments, multilingual accompaniment, payment with foreign-issued cards and links to hospitals in Central Asia for remote consultations and referrals.

Booking and language support

Patients can select a multilingual mode in the “新疆医科大学第二附属医院掌上医院” mini-program to book appointments. The hospital publishes specialist clinic schedules there every week and explains how to register. On arrival, it can arrange guidance and accompanied visits according to patients’ needs.

Hospital clinical staff provide interpreting in Russian and other languages commonly used in Central Asia. The service spans specialist consultations, examinations, payment and postoperative follow-up. Foreign-issued bank cards are supported for settlement. For a cross-border consultation or referral, the hospital can use its remote platform to discuss a care plan with a partner institution.

A return visit after treatment in Kazakhstan

The report describes Nurgul, a patient from Kazakhstan who came for reassessment after stent treatment at home. A broadcast reproduced in the university report says remote consultation from Xinjiang had helped guide her coronary stent procedure locally. She subsequently visited the hospital’s cardiovascular department to check the stent and discuss further care, with staff guiding her through the visit.

The hospital said it had seen nearly 200 foreign patients from Central Asia, Europe and the Americas in the first half of 2026. Its cross-border remote consultations with institutions in Kyrgyzstan date back to 2016. Alongside conventional care, the coordinated service includes assessment for Chinese-medicine options such as herbal treatment, acupuncture, moxibustion, tuina and cupping according to clinical needs.

Pharmacy tax refunds are separate from treatment charges

The report also identifies the nearby Guoda Xinte Pharmacy, Nanhu East Road No. 2 branch, as participating in the departure-tax-refund system. It describes a RMB 200 threshold for a single qualifying purchase in the same registered store on the same day and an 11% refund rate under the local scheme.

That provision concerns eligible goods bought at a registered tax-refund shop. It does not make hospital consultations, procedures or other medical fees refundable. The hospital’s foreign-card payment service and the pharmacy’s shopping-tax-refund process are separate arrangements.
