The Department of Health Medicine of Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated with Xiamen University was among the first “National Demonstration Bases for Health Management” established in Xiamen in 2012. In 2019, it was designated as the institution serving as Chair of the Health Management Branch of the Xiamen Medical Association and as the institution serving as Chair of the Xiamen Health Management Quality Control Center. It is a pioneer and leading institution in the development of Xiamen’s health management and medical examination industry. The department comprises the First Health Examination Division, the Second Health Examination Division, and the Xiahe Health Examination Branch. The department includes the departments of internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, stomatology, otorhinolaryngology, gynecology, medical imaging, ultrasound, and laboratory medicine. Examination items cover all parts of the body and screening for multiple diseases, providing comprehensive health data collection and assessment. From a professional perspective, the department provides examinees with scientific and appropriate health guidance plans, enhances public health awareness, and advocates a health philosophy centered on prevention and whole-life-cycle health management. An electronic health record is created for every examinee to facilitate comparison of examination results across the years. VIP examination clients are provided with personal accompaniment services, and a large number of area guidance staff are stationed on site to guide examinees through the examination efficiently and smoothly. An intelligent navigation system is also used to distribute examinee traffic. If an important abnormal result is identified during an employee examination, we immediately notify the individual and guide them to the relevant specialty for medical care. We also provide referral forms and other green channels for medical treatment. Individuals may take the referral form to the front desk of the examination department, where staff will assist with registration, appointment scheduling, and consultation, ensuring that employees receive timely and effective medical services. After group examinations are completed, when necessary, we invite appropriate senior experts to visit the organization where the examinations were conducted to hold special lectures and provide examination-report consultations, health education, and other activities. Detailed examination reports are issued 3–7 working days after the examination. Examination Area 2 has a beautiful environment and a five-star lake-view restaurant. It is the preferred institution in Xiamen for health examinations for government officials and high-end medical examinations.
