Zhujiang Hospital described its existing international patient services at a December 5, 2025 presentation, covering hospital care, insurance payment and support beyond discharge. Its International Medical Center, established in 1985, serves foreign patients, people from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and overseas Chinese.

Accommodation and clinical centres

The hospital reports more than 80 VIP service suites in Yiqiao Building. Six centres there focus on neurosurgery, lung nodules, prostate conditions, cardiovascular care, hepatobiliary disease and gastrointestinal tumours.

The wider clinical services described include thoracic surgery for lung nodules and lung transplantation for end-stage lung disease. In urology, Xu Abai had performed more than 1,000 operations using domestically developed surgical robots.

Its international service includes multilingual assistance and direct settlement arrangements with 18 international insurance companies. The account states that the centre has served more than 200,000 international patients from over 50 countries and regions during its forty years.

Insurance from appointment to settlement

Ping An Health Insurance described a payment channel established with Zhujiang Hospital in 2007. For its clients, the company provides a cashless process from appointment arrangements to settlement, without a separate reimbursement claim.

Preparation before admission

A representative of Zhongxing Medical International Group described a joint service developed with the hospital to address geographical, language, procedural and cross-border obstacles.

The arrangement coordinates preparations around a patient’s arrival so that admission and treatment can connect with work completed beforehand. It extends support beyond the hospital itself, including the practical and communication steps needed for a cross-border visit.

Rehabilitation after returning home

The same service model continues after a patient returns to their country. Local doctors undertake post-treatment management, including rehabilitation follow-up, monitoring the condition and coordinating medical resources.

Zhujiang Hospital provides guidance to those doctors for rehabilitation management. The provider explained that most of this post-discharge work takes place locally in the patient’s own country.
