Outpatient Department (Internet Hospital Office)

The Outpatient Department of Sichuan University West China Second Hospital was established in October 2009. It is a clinical management department integrating medical care, teaching, scientific research, disease prevention and health care, and administrative management. It was later renamed the Outpatient Department (Internet Hospital Office), with the Outpatient Department Office, Obstetrics and Gynecology Outpatient Clinic, Pediatrics Outpatient Clinic, Special Needs Outpatient Clinic, Outpatient Treatment Department, Convenience Clinic, and Patient Service Center. More than 40 subspecialty and specialty-direction clinics have been established, including maternal and child specialty clinics, specialty clinics, and special needs clinics centered on obstetrics and gynecology and pediatrics. At the same time, making full use of the high-quality medical resources of the West China Medical platform, the hospital successively established the West China Pediatric Surgery Consultation Clinic, Pediatric Ophthalmology Consultation Clinic, Pediatric Dental Treatment Clinic, Pediatric Oral Health Clinic, Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic, Child Psychology Clinic, Pediatric Neurosurgery Clinic, and Pediatric Dermatology Clinic. A comprehensive, multidimensional MDT outpatient and difficult-case consultation platform for maternal and child specialties has been developed. The department has innovated Internet-plus healthcare services, created a closed-loop, full-process outpatient service system based on WeChat, and launched the province’s first “intelligent, multichannel, one-click” centralized appointment platform covering all resources. It has deepened the mechanism for the efficient centralized management of resources and improved the construction of the outpatient treatment platform. It has successfully established an outpatient treatment operating model consisting of “three centers and two platforms,” structured around the Infusion Center, Wound Center, Intravenous Therapy Center, Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Center, and Comprehensive Treatment Platform. In recent years, the department has received multiple awards, including the Gold Award for Operations Management in the Sixth China Hospital Management Awards; the Outstanding Case Award in the “Promoting the Multidisciplinary Diagnosis and Treatment Model” category of the Seventh National Hospital Challenge for Improving Medical Services; a Top 100 Case in “Promoting the Multidisciplinary Diagnosis and Treatment Model”; a Top 100 Case in “Improving Older Adults’ Experience of Seeking Medical Care”; the Regional Excellence Award in the Sixth China Hospital Management Awards; and the Hospital’s Top Ten Highlights Award. 1.
