Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital has published practical details for patients using its international medical department. Established on August 18, 2025, the department comprises an outpatient service and an inpatient ward. Its April 2026 information page describes arrangements for international patients and domestic patients seeking these services.
Appointments and outpatient examinations
The outpatient service is in the east section of the seventh floor of Building D at the Tibei campus, on Huanhu West Road in Tianjin's Hexi district. Four consulting rooms provide private, one-to-one specialist consultations with limited appointment numbers.
Patients can book through the hospital's WeChat account, the Keruitai Q Medical or Jin Yibao apps, or by calling 022-23340123-6699 or 022-23359010. Staff coordinate registration, payment, tests and collection of results. The area has separate blood-sampling and ultrasound rooms, as well as payment and commercial-insurance settlement counters. Staff arrange additional examinations and provide direction cards.
Two responsible doctors and multidisciplinary care
The inpatient ward occupies the 24th floor of Building C at the same hospital. It has ten single-patient rooms in three size categories, with oxygen, suction and cardiac-monitoring equipment. Companion beds and rest areas accommodate family members; rooms also have age-friendly facilities.
Under a dual-attending arrangement, a specialist leads the cancer treatment while a dedicated international-department doctor manages daily care and coordination. Multidisciplinary planning can involve surgical and medical oncology, radiotherapy, Chinese medicine, imaging, psychology, nutrition and rehabilitation.
The hospital lists genetic testing, enhanced recovery after surgery, robotic surgery and immunotherapy among its clinical resources. Patients can be transferred to a specialist ward or intensive care when their condition requires it.
Admission, insurance and continuing support
Admission can be arranged through outpatient consultation or telephone contact. The department provides combined admission, payment and discharge procedures, accompanied examinations and priority scheduling for investigations and treatment.
Direct claims and direct payment are offered for patients covered by contracted commercial insurers. Dietitians adapt therapeutic meals to the patient's condition and treatment; psychological consultation and family nursing guidance are also available. The department lists [email protected] for enquiries and 022-23340123-3240 for its inpatient ward.
