Clinical Nutrition
As one of the hospital’s important medical-technical departments, the Clinical Nutrition Department focuses on providing patients with scientific, personalized nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and monitoring services, aiming to prevent or treat diseases or promote recovery through nutritional means.
Through anthropometric measurements, biochemical indicators, dietary surveys, and nutritional risk screening, it assesses patients’ nutritional status and diagnoses problems such as malnutrition (deficiency or excess), metabolic abnormalities, and other problems. It develops personalized dietary plans (such as a diabetes diet and a low-salt, low-fat diet). It designs enteral nutrition (EN) or parenteral nutrition (PN) support plans (such as for postoperative patients and critically ill patients). It provides therapeutic dietary guidance for special diseases (such as kidney disease, tumors, and food allergies). It runs specialized outpatient clinics for issues such as weight management and, in collaboration with the Departments of Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Nutrition, General Surgery, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Otorhinolaryngology, and Psychology, establishes a weight-loss MDT clinic.
