The Department of Clinical Nutrition of Xiamen Hong'ai Hospital is developed in accordance with national-level standards for clinical nutrition departments. It is a key clinical department prioritized for development by the hospital. The department's multidisciplinary team consists of clinical nutrition experts, technicians, and nurses. It is equipped with advanced nutritional assessment equipment and a standardized compounding center, and has established a full-process diagnosis and treatment system ranging from nutritional screening and precise assessment to dynamic intervention. It is committed to providing reasonable, standardized, scientifically effective, personalized, one-stop, whole-course nutrition management services for various diseases, including obesity, emaciation, tumors, diabetes, and kidney disease, as well as for various populations, including pregnant and postpartum women, infants, children and adolescents, and older adults. Hardware Conditions The department is equipped with internationally leading precise nutrition assessment and intervention equipment, including: lEnergy Metabolism Cart: precisely measures patients' resting energy expenditure (REE) and substrate oxidation rates, providing individualized energy requirement plans for critically ill patients, patients with tumors, and others; lInBody Human Body Composition Analyzer: precisely monitors muscle mass, body fat percentage, and intracellular and extracellular water distribution, and dynamically assesses the risks of obesity, malnutrition, and muscle loss; lThe first Precise Nutrition Assessment Room in Fujian Province: relying on the hospital's precise nutrition laboratory, it conducts testing services for vitamins, amino acid profiles, fatty acids, trace elements, food allergens (100+ items), folate metabolism genes, and others, achieving precise nutrition assessment, deeply analyzing individual nutritional metabolic characteristics, and providing solid support for precise nutrition diagnosis and treatment; lThe first 100,000-class enteral nutrition compounding room in Xiamen City: it has introduced more than 40 nutrition prescription-level formulations, can meet individualized one-person-one-prescription nutrition treatment requirements, and provides one-stop delivery to the bedside, achieving precise nutrition diagnosis and treatment; Talent Development The department currently has a group of medical nutrition professionals graduated from well-known higher medical education institutions in China and abroad, including Sun Yat-sen University, Southwest Medical University, and University Collage London. The department currently has 11 professional and technical personnel, including: 4 nutrition physicians: all have physician qualification certificates, including 1 deputy chief physician and 1 intermediate-level physician; 3 nutrition technicians; 4 nutrition nurses and specialists, and 5 registered dietitians, forming a professional team with “medical-technician-nursing” collaboration.
