Vascular Surgery
The Vascular Surgery Department describes itself as a sister department of vascular surgery at the University Medical Center Göttingen in Germany and, according to the hospital, the largest integrated Chinese and Western vascular surgery center in the province at the time of its introduction. Its doctors have clinical experience and doctoral or master's degrees. Equipment includes a SonoSite portable ultrasound and a Veinlite vein finder. The hospital states that it is the province's only specialty unit able to provide immediate bedside vascular ultrasound diagnosis and treatment, and describes its clinical, research and teaching work as focused on minimally invasive vascular surgery. The hospital reports nationally advanced work in venous surgery, including lower-limb varicose veins and deep vein thrombosis, and says its research has appeared in specialist journals including PHLEBOLOGY and 'Thrombose and Thrombolysis' as named in its source. It describes its arterial surgery as provincially advanced, with several techniques and projects introduced first in the province. The department also provides integrated Chinese and Western care for vascular conditions such as diabetic foot and venous stasis dermatitis, including the traditional approach of treating winter illnesses in summer; the hospital describes this work as nationally advanced. It undertakes vascular research projects supported by the Zhejiang science and technology department, Zhejiang Natural Science Foundation and Zhejiang health commission. The department works with its German counterpart and teaching and research institutions including Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Chinese Medical University and Zhejiang Provincial Academy of Chinese Medicine.
