【Department Establishment History】 The Department of Stomatology was established in 1982. 【Department Honors】 It is at an advanced level within the city in areas including periodontal disease and esthetic restorative dentistry, and is a large-scale, influential center for the prevention and treatment of oral diseases in the city. 【Department Leadership】 Under the leadership of Director Qin Xianan, outstanding contributions have been made to the development of the department. 【Research Scope】 The department is dedicated to research in areas including dentoalveolar surgery and dental pulp diseases. It primarily diagnoses and treats various dental and pulp diseases, microscopic root canal treatment, oral mucosal diseases, periodontal disease, pediatric oral diseases, early orthodontic treatment for children, missing teeth and dentition, dental malocclusions, oral and maxillofacial inflammation and trauma, temporomandibular joint diseases, and other conditions. 【Department Services】 The department currently has 45 medical and nursing staff members, including 3 doctors with doctoral degrees and 14 with master's degrees; the average annual number of outpatient visits exceeds 50,000. It has specialties in conservative dentistry, maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics, orthodontics, dental implants, dental esthetics, pediatric dentistry, early orthodontic treatment for children, and oral prevention, as follows: Conservative dentistry: dental caries, periodontal disease, oral mucosal diseases, dental and pulp diseases Oral surgery: tooth extraction, dental implant surgery, apical surgery, excision of small maxillofacial masses, temporomandibular joint diseases, and others Prosthodontics: all-ceramic crowns, removable dentures, complete dentures, inlay restorations, implant restorations, precision attachment restorations, and others Orthodontics: early orthodontic treatment for children and orthodontic treatment for adults, invisible orthodontics, fixed orthodontics, treatment of sleep bruxism, and others Dental implants: the most advanced Swiss ITI (Straumann), Nobel (Nobel Biocare), Osstem (Osstem), and other implant systems are used Dental esthetics: porcelain veneers, resin veneers, teeth whitening, and others Pediatric dentistry: fillings, extractions, fluoride application, and pit-and-fissure sealing for children Oral prevention: physical examinations, fluoride application, dental cleaning, and oral health education The department has successively introduced more than ten new technologies and also undertakes multiple scientific research projects at various levels. The medical staff actively participate in various academic conferences, keep abreast of the latest advances in oral technology in China and abroad, and ensure that new technologies and methods are promptly applied in clinical practice to provide patients with the most advanced and appropriate medical services. The outpatient department is equipped with 31 Italian-imported and domestically manufactured dental chairs (including 13 at the Guangming Campus), as well as a Planmeca panoramic X-ray machine, Planmeca CT machine, Implant-X implant motor, Swiss ITI and other dental implant systems, Woodpecker Surgie Smart ultrasonic bone surgery system, Dentsply root canal treatment device, Odan and Woodpecker periodontal treatment devices, a Laica microscope, a Danish 3shape intraoral scanner, an advanced and comprehensive German MELAG disinfection and sterilization system, an i Care C2 Type handpiece cleaning machine, comprehensive water-treatment equipment, and strict disinfection and sterilization measures. The outpatient hall and treatment environment have been completely upgraded, with a comfortable and elegant layout, providing patients with a warm and convenient healthcare experience. All medical, nursing, and technical staff will provide the people of the entire city with trustworthy oral medical services through five-star service standards, excellent technology, high-quality care, and reasonable charges.
