Olympic Sports Campus Ward
The ward of the Health Care (Geriatric) Neurology Department at the Olympic Sports Center Campus of Shandong Provincial Hospital is a comprehensive clinical department integrating the diagnosis and treatment of nervous system diseases, health-care consultations within and outside the province, and the prevention and treatment of sleep disorders. It currently has 20 medical and nursing staff members, including 10 with senior professional titles and 1 representative to the National People's Congress. The department has 21 beds in operation and discharges more than 800 patients annually.
The department mainly admits patients with cerebrovascular diseases, cognitive disorders, Parkinson's disease, encephalitis, demyelinating diseases of the nervous system, epilepsy, peripheral neuropathies, sleep disorders, depression/anxiety, and other conditions, and has extensive clinical experience in rescuing critically ill patients. It is equipped with a multichannel sleep monitoring device and video EEG equipment for the diagnosis and assessment of various sleep disorders and epilepsy. It also has a transcranial magnetic stimulation device and an insomnia treatment device, which provide good therapeutic results for symptoms such as insomnia, headache, depression, and anxiety.
In recent years, the department has participated in 7 National Natural Science Foundation projects and 5 provincial- and ministerial-level research projects, and has won 5 Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards and 1 Shandong Provincial Natural Science Award. It has published more than 180 papers in domestic and international core journals, including more than 50 SCI papers.
