Main Campus Oncology Department 1

Main Hospital Oncology Department I established the oncology outpatient clinic in 1993 and the oncology inpatient ward in 1994. In 2002, it began providing tumor radiotherapy and established the Department of Radiotherapy. In 2007, the original Oncology Department was transferred to the East Hospital, and the Department of Radiotherapy was renamed Main Hospital Oncology Department. In 2013, Main Hospital Oncology Department was further divided into Oncology Department I and Oncology Department II. The department currently has 34 beds, 6 physicians, and 12 nurses; 5 staff members have postgraduate-level or higher educational qualifications, and 1 is an associate chief physician. The department has 2 doctoral students currently enrolled. Over the past 5 years, it has recruited 5 doctoral and highly educated professionals, bringing the number of department physicians to 12, all of whom hold doctoral degrees.

The scope of diagnosis and treatment includes all types of malignant tumors, primarily lung cancer, breast cancer, esophageal cancer, gastrointestinal tumors, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and various head and neck cancers. The department specializes in the principles of diagnosis and treatment for malignant tumors at all stages; the diagnosis of lung cancer, concurrent chemoradiotherapy, and targeted therapy; concurrent chemoradiotherapy for nasopharyngeal and head and neck cancers; and chemoradiotherapy/precision radiotherapy for soft-tissue sarcomas.

Over the more than ten years since the department was established, it has practiced scientific management, provided standardized treatment, emphasized multidisciplinary collaboration, adhered to a “patient-centered” approach, and provided humanized services. It strives to establish a pain-free oncology ward in Shandong Province. The department pays attention to and cares for patients with cancer, and encourages and motivates them to actively participate in cancer treatment.
