Nutrition Department
The Nutrition Department of Red House Hospital originated from the nutrition room established when the hospital was founded. With the support of hospital leadership and the department’s persistent efforts to study and absorb advanced professional theories and techniques from China and abroad, the Clinical Nutrition Department was established in 2013. It now has 2 clinical nutrition physicians, 3 nutrition technicians, 2 staff with intermediate professional titles and 3 with junior titles. To meet the needs of patients in obstetrics and gynecology, it runs a nutrition clinic, nutrition canteen and enteral-nutrition preparation room. Its priorities are perioperative, periconceptional and perinatal nutrition management; its main research focuses are nutrition-related perinatal complications and nutritional metabolism and support in oncology patients. It is committed to building a nationally leading obstetric and gynecologic nutrition discipline. In 2017, the department was named a provincial demonstration unit of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association’s national pregnancy-nutrition classroom; in 2019, it was selected by the China Maternal and Child Health Association for the standardized-development project for Internet-plus perinatal nutrition clinics.
