Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Center
The center brings the diagnosis and treatment of digestive system diseases, comfort-focused endoscopy, gastrointestinal early cancer screening, and endoscopic minimally invasive treatment together on one medical platform. After completing examinations, patients can continue to receive specialist assessment and treatment planning based on endoscopic, imaging, and pathology results, reducing repeated coordination between examination, diagnosis, and treatment.
In addition to routine gastroscopy and colonoscopy, the center can perform endoscopic treatment of digestive tract lesions, including EMR and ESD, and use ERCP and EUS to treat or assess biliary and pancreatic diseases. For specific conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux and appendicitis, it also provides specialized diagnostic and treatment services including Bravo wireless esophageal pH monitoring, 24-hour pH-impedance monitoring, and ERAT.

Center features Comfort-focused endoscopic examinations Common concerns about gastroscopy and colonoscopy include pain, anesthesia safety, bowel preparation, examination quality, and report interpretation. The center integrates the gastroenterology outpatient service with the endoscopy center and can provide comfortable gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasonography, capsule endoscopy, and assessment for complex endoscopic diagnosis and treatment. Eligible patients can, after assessment by the physician and anesthesia team, complete pre-examination preparation, endoscopy, postoperative observation, report interpretation, and coordination with specialist follow-up.
Early gastrointestinal cancer screening and endoscopic minimally invasive treatment For people with gastrointestinal polyps, atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia, risk of early cancer, or a family history, the center can combine high-definition endoscopy, magnification or chromoendoscopic assessment, and pathology examination for screening and risk assessment. For patients with eligible polyps, early cancer, or precancerous lesions, physicians can assess endoscopic minimally invasive treatment options such as EMR and ESD, treating local lesions while preserving organ structure as much as possible.
Biliary and pancreatic diseases and complex endoscopic diagnosis and treatment Problems such as common bile duct stones, obstructive jaundice, pancreatic masses, gastrointestinal bleeding, and gastrointestinal strictures often require joint assessment by endoscopy, imaging, surgery, and oncology. The center can assess ERCP, EUS and EUS-guided puncture, endoscopic hemostasis, gastrointestinal stent placement, and other diagnostic and treatment approaches, and coordinate with surgery, oncology, radiology, pathology, and critical care teams according to the patient’s condition.
Precise assessment of gastroesophageal reflux Acid regurgitation, heartburn, retrosternal discomfort, chronic cough, or throat discomfort cannot necessarily all have their causes clarified by routine gastroscopy. Based on symptoms and previous treatment, the center can assess Bravo wireless esophageal pH monitoring, 24-hour esophageal pH-impedance monitoring, and related functional tests, recording the relationship between reflux events and symptoms to provide a basis for medication adjustment, lifestyle management, or further treatment.
Assessment for endoscopic retrograde appendicitis therapy For some patients with acute appendicitis, the gastroenterology endoscopy, surgical, and imaging teams can jointly assess the suitability of endoscopic retrograde appendicitis therapy (ERAT). This technique uses a colonoscope to enter the appendiceal orifice for contrast imaging, irrigation, stone extraction, or drainage. Whether it should be used must be determined comprehensively based on the type of appendicitis, imaging findings, risk of complications, and conditions for surgical treatment.
Multidisciplinary collaboration for digestive tract tumors For patients in whom examination reveals clues of a digestive tract tumor, pathological abnormalities, or a risk of tumors of the biliary and pancreatic systems, the center can coordinate pathology interpretation, imaging review, surgical assessment, oncology consultation, and long-term follow-up. Patients can complete examinations, diagnostic recommendations, discussion of treatment direction, and subsequent management on the same medical platform, reducing information gaps between examination and treatment.
Inflammatory bowel disease and chronic disease management Chronic gastrointestinal diseases often require long-term follow-up and medication adjustments. The center can provide specialist assessment, repeat-examination plans, medication management, and nutrition and lifestyle advice for patients with inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, Helicobacter pylori infection, functional gastrointestinal disorders, and hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases. For patients who require biologic agents or innovative drug therapy, the relevant medication must be confirmed by the physician and the pharmacy department according to the indication and compliant procedures.
