1. Formulation and implementation of comprehensive tumor treatment plans

The department routinely carries out the diagnosis, staging and formulation of treatment plans for various malignant tumors; for tumor patients who cannot undergo surgery, it carries out radical comprehensive treatment plans based mainly on radiotherapy, provides the best minimally invasive treatment (interstitial brachytherapy, radioactive seed implantation) for locally recurrent tumors, and, with the support of the day chemotherapy and radiotherapy center, carries out drug therapy (chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, etc.) for patients with advanced recurrent tumors.

2. Image-guided precise radiotherapy

The department took the lead in the province in carrying out modern precision radiotherapy such as three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy, intensity-modulated conformal radiotherapy and image-guided radiotherapy. To date it has completed precise radiotherapy for more than 8,000 patients and has accumulated sufficient experience in various common and frequently occurring diseases; at the same time the department has established a deep cooperative relationship with Peking Union Medical College Hospital and has invited Director Zhang Fuquan as a visiting professor to provide guidance on difficult diseases.

3. Brachytherapy

Brachytherapy is an indispensable and important technique in the treatment of tumors; it can achieve high-dose precise irradiation, improve the local control rate and reduce damage to normal tissues. The department has standardized brachytherapy for cervical cancer, endometrial cancer and other diseases, and has also carried out interstitial brachytherapy for solid tumors throughout the body and 125I brachytherapy, which has an immediate effect on malignant tumors recurring after radiotherapy and locally recurrent tumors; among these, interstitial brachytherapy is at the leading level nationwide.

4. Integrated whole-course diagnosis and treatment services

The department has built an integrated whole-course diagnosis and treatment model covering diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and follow-up, organically integrating nutritional therapy and hospice care into the entire process of tumor management, providing patients with systematic nutritional assessment and individualized intervention, and improving treatment tolerance and quality of life; as a specialty base for hospice care, it carries out standardized hospice care throughout the treatment process of tumor patients, focusing on symptom control and humanistic care and safeguarding patients' comfort and dignity.
