Day Treatment Center
The Day Treatment Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University was officially established on June 6, 2024, making it the first day treatment center in the city and primarily serving patients receiving in-hospital oncology chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy. Under this new model of diagnosis and treatment, oncology patients do not need to complete hospital admission procedures before receiving short-term treatment; they only need to schedule a treatment time to come in for one-stop diagnosis and treatment, and can go home to rest after completing it that day. This not only greatly shortens patients' waiting time for medical care but also effectively saves hospitalization expenses such as bed and nursing costs, making it a key part of the hospital's efforts to improve patients' healthcare experience and enhance their comfort and satisfaction when receiving care. The Day Treatment Center provides a one-stop service unit, including outpatient infusion treatment, 24-hour admission and discharge services, an MDT outpatient clinic, psychological rehabilitation, and more, and integrates support departments such as outpatient blood collection, the central pharmacy, PICC catheter insertion and maintenance, and billing and payment settlement. The center currently has 80 infusion chairs, 20 beds, and 8 chairs in an infusion room specially designed for children, with a designed maximum service capacity of up to 300 patient-visits. Since beginning operations, the center's average daily service volume has reached 150 patient-visits for infusions and 30-40 patient-visits for dual-channel subcutaneous injections, fully demonstrating its efficient and convenient service capabilities.
