Cardiovascular CT Examination Department
The Department of Cardiovascular CT Examination of the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University was among the earliest institutions worldwide to research noninvasive coronary cardiac CT imaging technology and apply it clinically. To date, it has completed 35,000 coronary cardiac CT imaging examinations, maintaining a leading position in China and exerting a certain influence in the field. Professionals from 230 hospitals across China have come to study this technology, making an outstanding contribution to its dissemination nationwide. The department has received the hospital’s Special Contribution Award once and has been recognized several times as an advanced management department. It has received one Second Prize and one Third Prize of the Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. It has undertaken six national-, provincial-, and municipal-level research projects. It has published a total of 30 papers in Science Citation Index (SCI) journals, Chinese medical journals, and national core academic journals. It has contributed to 13 books published by the People's Medical Publishing House and other publishers. The department has developed three new cardiac CT imaging technologies. As a member institution of the Asian Society of Cardiovascular Imaging, it has hosted three international advanced forums on the clinical application of coronary cardiac CT imaging, as well as national-level continuing education programs. Recently, the first second-generation FLASH dual-source cardiovascular CT system in Northeast China was installed and put into operation in the Cardiac CT Department, specifically for coronary cardiac CT imaging examinations. This CT scanner is equipped with two X-ray tube and detector systems and has the highest temporal resolution in the industry (75 ms), as well as high spatial resolution. Coronary cardiac CT imaging examinations do not require heart-rate control and are also suitable for patients with arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, thereby expanding the scope of application of this examination.
