Anaesthesiology

The Department of Anesthesiology at Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a medical team distinguished by its integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine and rich clinical experience, committed to providing patients with precise, safe anesthesia services and a comfortable medical-care experience. The department comprises more than 50 medical and nursing staff in anesthesiology and has developed notable strengths in anesthesia for complex surgeries, acute and chronic pain management, and the collaborative treatment of sleep disorders using traditional Chinese and Western medicine.

Technical Advantages

The department adheres to the philosophy of safe, painless care, makes ultrasound-guided visualization techniques for anesthesia procedures part of routine practice, and combines them with multimodal analgesia to minimize complications related to postoperative pain.

Academic Standing

An authorized master's degree-granting site in Anesthesiology at Zhejiang Chinese Medical University; a unit whose representative serves as a deputy chair of the Anesthesiology Branch of the Zhejiang Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine; and a unit whose representative serves as a deputy chair of the Pain Branch of the Zhejiang Society of Chinese Medicine.

Research Achievements

In research, the department focuses on basic research on pain, basic research on anesthetic drugs, and complications involving perioperative nausea and vomiting, among other areas. It has undertaken multiple projects at the national level, provincial and ministerial levels, and under the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine; in total, it has published nearly 100 papers, including SCI papers and papers in Category I journals, and holds several invention patents, including a patient-controlled analgesia pump patent that has already been implemented and transferred into practical use.
