Obstetrics and Gynaecology
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a comprehensive specialty integrating clinical care, teaching and research, prevention, and health care. It is a key first-level clinical discipline prioritized for development by the hospital. The department has a strong medical team composed of senior experts and highly educated professionals, dedicated to providing women with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine healthcare services covering the entire cycle of “early screening–precise treatment–rapid recovery.” There are currently 108 medical and nursing staff members, including 26 chief and associate chief physicians and 22 attending physicians, all of whom hold doctoral or master’s degrees in medicine. The department receives more than 100,000 outpatient visits annually and performs more than 2,000 operations each year, of which Grade III and IV operations account for 30%. The medical team has always upheld the philosophy of “inheriting the essence, upholding the right path, and innovating,” providing comprehensive integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine protection for women’s health.
Technical Advantages
The department is equipped with advanced medical devices, such as 4K ultra-high-definition laparoscopes, fluorescence laparoscopes, bipolar hysteroscopes, extracorporeal pelvic floor function treatment systems, biofeedback stimulators, electronic colposcopes, and PET/CT. The department adheres to the diagnostic and treatment philosophy of “minimally invasive, precise, and individualized” care and comprehensively performs various types of minimally invasive gynecological surgery. It has particular expertise in surgery for gynecologic malignant tumors and various types of endometriosis, including laparoscopic radical hysterectomy, radical surgery for cervical cancer, radical surgery for endometrial cancer, cytoreductive surgery for ovarian cancer, sentinel lymph node excision, and excision of severe pelvic endometriotic lesions, among other highly challenging procedures. At the same time, it provides comprehensive, full-process, high-quality, and highly efficient day-surgery services throughout the entire cycle, enabling patients to truly arrive, receive treatment, and leave on the same day. During the perioperative period, traditional Chinese medicine therapies are combined, and more than 10 external TCM treatment methods—including acupoint application, Huolong cupping, auricular acupressure with seeds, and Chinese herbal fumigation and washing—are widely provided to accelerate postoperative recovery and create a unique model of “precise Western medical diagnosis and treatment + characteristic TCM care.” The department has a profound foundation in traditional Chinese medicine and has established multiple specialized outpatient services, including the Qiu School Gynecology Clinic; integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment for gynecologic malignant tumors, endometriosis, ovarian cysts/uterine fibroids, and recurrent miscarriage; cervical and vaginal diseases; gynecologic endocrinology; chronic pelvic pain; and pelvic floor disorders. As a renowned traditional Chinese gynecology school in Zhejiang, Qiu School Gynecology has distinctive advantages in treating difficult and complex disorders such as endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, amenorrhea, infertility, and recurrent miscarriage. As an integrated diagnosis-and-treatment collaboration institution for endometriosis, the department has developed characteristic in-hospital preparations with significant efficacy for endometriosis, including Compound Lonicera Vine Oral Liquid and Compound Sargentodoxa Cuneata Vine Enema.
