Technical Advantages
The department has distinctive characteristics in “collaboration between traditional Chinese and Western medicine.” It has established seven subspecialties: operative dentistry and endodontics, periodontology, oral mucosal diseases, maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and dental implantology. Its scope of diagnosis and treatment covers the various oral health needs of people of all ages. The department deeply practices the traditional Chinese medicine concept of “preventive treatment of disease” and has unique advantages in challenging fields such as oral mucosal diseases, periodontal disease, and temporomandibular joint disorders. Upholding both orthodoxy and innovation, it deeply integrates cutting-edge oral diagnosis and treatment technologies with distinctive traditional Chinese medicine therapies, including oral and external administration of Chinese medicines, acupuncture, acupoint application, and auricular point pressing with seeds. While precisely treating local lesions, it also takes into account the regulation of patients’ systemic qi and blood and the restoration of their constitution, providing pattern-based treatment and addressing both the symptoms and the root cause, with the aim of resolving intractable oral diseases at their source.
