Breast Surgery

Zhejiang Hospital’s Department of Breast Surgery was established in 2015. The department undertakes research projects funded by the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation, the Provincial Health Commission, the Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and other research funds. In particular, it has conducted in-depth research on breast cancer in older adults, the treatment of difficult-to-treat breast cancer, postoperative rehabilitation and full-course management of breast cancer, and the genetic mechanisms underlying the development of breast tumors. The department takes “Excellence in Virtue and Mastery in Technique” as its core values; “Patients First” as its service principle; “the minimum effective treatment” as its philosophy; and minimally invasive treatment for various breast diseases and comprehensive treatment of breast cancer as its distinguishing features; on the basis of curing disease, it emphasizes minimally invasive procedures, cosmetic outcomes, and preservation of function. The hospital has advanced diagnostic equipment, including color Doppler ultrasound, mammography, and magnetic resonance imaging, which facilitate the early diagnosis of breast cancer. A multidisciplinary comprehensive treatment group for breast cancer (MDT) was established during the same period to provide comprehensive treatment for breast cancer.
