Ultrasound Medicine Center

The Ultrasound Medicine Center of Zhejiang Hospital is a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment center integrating ultrasound examination and diagnosis with minimally invasive interventional diagnosis and treatment. It is a discipline under construction as a key clinical specialty in Zhejiang Province, as well as one of the hospital’s second batch of key disciplines and key specialties. It is a distinctive discipline with a well-developed domestic ultrasound minimally invasive interventional diagnosis and treatment system and comprehensive technical coverage, a national standardized residency training base, a master’s degree training site in ultrasound medicine, and a teaching and internship institution for multiple medical schools.

The Center focuses on clinical diagnosis and treatment, while advancing scientific research and teaching in parallel. Featuring the integration of ultrasound minimally invasive interventional diagnosis and treatment, it has extensive clinical experience in ultrasound minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment, has led or participated in the formulation of 13 domestic guidelines and expert consensuses, and pioneered curved ablation technology and thermal equilibrium ablation technology.

The department currently has more than 50 professional and technical personnel and is equipped with more than 40 high-end international ultrasound systems. It offers a comprehensive range of services covering examinations of all tissues and organs throughout the body and various specialized ultrasound technologies, including thyroid, breast, cardiac, vascular, obstetric and gynecological, fetal, thoracic and abdominal organ, and four-dimensional ultrasound examinations, with a total of 207 diagnostic and treatment services.

The Center has an independent ultrasound interventional operating room and routinely performs various minimally invasive procedures, including puncture biopsy, catheter placement and drainage, cyst sclerotherapy, tumor (nodule) ablation, and rotary excision of breast nodules. It has extensive clinical experience in liver tumor ablation, thyroid nodule ablation, uterine fibroid (adenomyosis) ablation, sclerotherapy of hepatic and renal cysts, sclerotherapy of chocolate cysts, and minimally invasive treatment of breast nodules. The Center follows the principles of “precision, minimally invasive treatment, efficiency, and safety” to provide patients with personalized diagnostic and treatment services.
