Since its independent establishment in 1982, the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Zhejiang Hospital has developed into a specialized team with 28 beds, 2 chief physicians, 3 associate chief physicians, 1 PhD holder currently in service, and 8 master’s degree holders. It is one of the second group of “Small but Strong” clinical innovation teams designated by the Zhejiang Provincial Health Commission. The department focuses on the clinical diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant thoracic diseases, as well as the integrated development of medical care, education, and research. Its medical and nursing team has extensive experience and works together with excellent efficiency. Through years of clinical practice and specialty development, the department has built a professional technical team characterized by high ethical standards, outstanding expertise, and strong unity and collaboration. It has developed a number of distinctive and effective diagnostic and treatment programs and accumulated extensive clinical experience in the early diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the lungs, esophagus, cardia, mediastinum, thoracic sympathetic nerves, and chest wall.
