Rehabilitation Medicine

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine has two major rehabilitation wards at the Lingyin and Sandun campuses, with a total of 80 approved beds — 32 at the Lingyin Campus and 48 at the Sandun Campus; it is also equipped with a Rehabilitation Treatment Center, a rehabilitation outpatient clinic, and a Hyperbaric Oxygen Center, with the Rehabilitation Treatment Center covering more than 2,500 m² in total. The department’s core specialty is geriatric rehabilitation, while it is also comprehensively developing subspecialties including neurological rehabilitation, critical care rehabilitation, musculoskeletal pain rehabilitation, and postsurgical rehabilitation, providing precise and efficient rehabilitation medical services and establishing an integrated three-in-one rehabilitation management model of “outpatient clinic—wards—treatment center.” It is currently the only institution in Zhejiang Province included in the National Clinical Key Specialty Construction Project for Rehabilitation Medicine; it is also the Zhejiang Provincial Rehabilitation Specialty Healthcare Center, a key specialty in integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine geriatric rehabilitation under the Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a hospital-level key discipline and key specialty; it is the chairing institution for four major branches, namely, the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Branch of the Zhejiang Medical Association, the Geriatric Disease Rehabilitation Branch of the Zhejiang Rehabilitation Medical Association, the Primary-level Rehabilitation Special Committee of the Zhejiang Primary Health Association, and the Spinal Nonsurgical Correction and Rehabilitation Branch of the Zhejiang Rehabilitation Medical Association; it is the deputy-chairing institution of the Zhejiang Engineering Research Center (Rehabilitation Medicine Brain–Computer Interface Technology and Equipment), a standing council member institution of the Yangtze River Delta Smart Rehabilitation Alliance, and a founding institution of the Zhejiang Scoliosis Rehabilitation Alliance.
