It is a Grade III Class A specialist cancer hospital integrating clinical care, teaching, research and prevention, also serving as Kunming Medical University’s Third Affiliated Hospital; the Yunnan Hospital of Peking University Cancer Hospital was inaugurated here in 2024.

The First People's Hospital of Yunnan Province, founded in 1939, is a large public general hospital in Kunming affiliated with Kunming University of Science and Technology.
