Vascular Surgery

Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Shanghai University of TCM

The Department of Vascular Surgery of Yueyang Hospital was established in 2018 and is one of the member institutions of the Yangtze River Delta Vascular Disease Alliance. Focusing on peripheral vascular diseases, the Department of Vascular Surgery has built a diagnostic and treatment system characterized by integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine. On the basis of inheriting the academic experience of the Xi tradition in diagnosing and treating vascular diseases, it integrates surgery, internal and external traditional Chinese medicine treatments, interventional therapy, and specialized wound management to provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for diseases involving the arteries, veins, and lymphatic vessels of the limbs. These include diabetic foot, lower-extremity atherosclerotic obliterative disease, lower-extremity arterial embolism, renal artery stenosis, subclavian artery stenosis, carotid artery stenosis, abdominal aortic aneurysm, aortic dissection, lower-extremity varicose veins, chronic lower-extremity ulcers, lower-extremity deep vein thrombosis, cockett syndrome, lymphedema, vasculitis, erysipelas, and many other diseases.

The Department currently has 36 beds and a medical team of 6 physicians: 1 chief physician, 1 associate chief physician, 2 attending physicians, and 2 resident physicians, all with postgraduate education. It has now formed a disciplinary team combining senior, middle-aged, and young professionals; traditional Chinese and Western medicine; and clinical care, teaching, and research, with strong innovative capabilities. The Department integrates medical care, teaching, and research, takes “precision, diligence, benevolence, and trust” as its core理念, and follows the service tenet of “caring for life, dedication to work, integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and pursuing excellence,” providing higher-quality medical services to the vast number of patients.
