Breast Disease Department

The Department of Breast Diseases of Yueyang Hospital Affiliated with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established in August 2009. The department has 36 approved beds, more than 30,000 outpatient visits per year, more than 2,000 discharges per year, and more than 1,000 surgeries per year. The Department of Breast Diseases of Yueyang Hospital is a breast specialty integrating medical care, education, research, and spiritual civilization, with distinctive features of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine. The department currently has 8 established physicians. Through several years of specialty development, its personnel structure has become increasingly complete, forming a rational tiered structure with Director Xue Xiaohong as the academic leader. Currently, there are 2 physicians with senior professional titles, 1 with an associate-senior professional title, 3 with intermediate professional titles, and 2 with junior professional titles, including 1 master's supervisor. The educational composition is 2 physicians with doctoral degrees, 1 pursuing a doctorate while working, and 5 with master's degrees; master's and doctoral degree holders account for 100%. In the department, 100% of the clinical physicians have received postgraduate training and training in advanced breast surgery in China and abroad. A rational team with a combination of senior, middle-aged, and young members, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and integrated medical care, education, and research, with innovative capabilities, has been formed.
