Traditional Medicine Department 2
Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Shanghai University of TCM
The Second Department of Preventive Treatment of Disease is a comprehensive department integrating health examinations, comprehensive traditional Chinese medicine treatment, and traditional medicine outpatient services. The department has a strong traditional cultural atmosphere, and its environment is comfortable, tranquil, and pleasant. It currently has 12 full-time staff members, including 4 physicians, 2 rehabilitation therapists, 4 nurses, and 2 administrative staff members; among the department staff, 3 hold doctoral degrees, 2 hold master's degrees, and 2 have senior professional titles. The department adheres to the concept of “Inheriting the essence, upholding integrity and pursuing innovation,” inherits and develops the advantages and essence of the traditional medicine of the motherland, and implements “one-stop health management.” It specializes in using distinctive traditional Chinese medicine methods to provide individuals with comprehensive diagnosis and treatment through health assessment, health guidance, and health intervention, thereby effectively meeting the various health needs of the general public.
In addition to providing routine Western medicine health examinations, the Health Examination Center fully leverages the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in functional evaluation. By introducing such distinctive traditional Chinese medicine diagnostic and treatment equipment as traditional Chinese medicine constitution identification, traditional Chinese medicine tongue, facial appearance, and pulse examination, traditional Chinese medicine meridian testing, infrared thermal imaging testing, and an ocular diagnostic instrument, it conducts objective information collection. Experienced physicians then combine the collected information and conduct a comprehensive assessment through the combined application of the four examinations of inspection, auscultation and olfaction, inquiry, and palpation, focusing on comprehensively evaluating the human body's constitution and the functional status of the qi and blood of the meridians, zang-fu organs from a macroscopic perspective, thereby making up for the current shortcomings of health assessment based solely on physical and chemical examinations,
The Comprehensive Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment Center has 25 treatment beds. Adhering to the traditional Chinese medicine concept that “the principles of external treatment are the same as those of internal treatment, and the medicines for external treatment are the same as those for internal treatment,” it has currently integrated appropriate traditional Chinese medicine techniques, including moxibustion, finger acupoint pressure, cupping, gua sha, acupoint application, auricular acupoints, Chinese herbal fumigation, Chinese herbal medicinal plastering, and Chinese herbal rubbing. For the “nine major population groups” (chronic fatigue syndrome, insomnia, gastrointestinal dysfunction, dysmenorrhea, neck, shoulder, lower back, and leg pain, visual fatigue, hypertension, prostate diseases, and thyroid nodules), it has established distinctive traditional Chinese medicine health-care intervention programs, with significant clinical efficacy.
The Traditional Medicine Outpatient Department adheres to traditional Chinese medicine ways of thinking, fully leverages the advantages of the holistic concept and pattern-based treatment of traditional Chinese medicine, breaks through the limitations of specialties, and specializes in using distinctive traditional Chinese medicine methods to treat various internal medicine conditions and difficult and complicated diseases. It has developed its own distinctive diagnostic and treatment features particularly in insomnia, chronic fatigue, abnormal sweating, fatty liver, subhealth, menopausal syndrome, and men's health preservation and care, and has received extensive recognition and praise from patients.
The department will provide patients with the most appropriate, most effective, and most satisfactory medical services through a serious and responsible work attitude and superb medical skills.
