Cardiac Ultrasound Diagnosis Department
Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
The Department of Cardiac Ultrasound is a medical-technical department integrating medical care, scientific research, and teaching. It has a professional technical team composed of highly skilled senior experts and is currently equipped with 16 high-end cardiac color Doppler ultrasound diagnostic systems from world-leading product series. Tens of thousands of examination visits are completed each year. Its diagnostic services include routine echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, ultrasound examination of the cervical vessels, fetal cardiac ultrasound, TCCD, bedside ultrasound for critically ill patients, and intraoperative ultrasound monitoring, among others. A 24-hour green-channel service has been established, ensuring timely diagnosis for patients with acute and critical conditions. We take “Pursuing integrity and excellence, sharing benevolence and health” as our guiding principle and provide every patient who comes for care with comprehensive, timely, and first-rate medical services. Through the continuous efforts of all staff, the department has achieved substantial development and progress. The department was the first throughout Xinjiang to perform transesophageal three-dimensional echocardiography and to use transesophageal three-dimensional ultrasound for intraoperative monitoring of cardiac valve repair, valve replacement, artificial vascular replacement, and other procedures. Contrast-enhanced ultrasound, ultrasound-guided interventional treatment of congenital heart disease, ultrasound-guided balloon dilation for valvular heart disease, and other procedures help support nonsurgical treatment of structural heart disease; the department has been designated as a fetal cardiac ultrasound training base and a fetal cardiac ultrasound multicenter collaborative unit, and has conducted fetal echocardiography examinations; as a national stroke-screening base, it was the first throughout Xinjiang to conduct TCCD, TCD microembolus detection, bubble testing, and other procedures, providing a basis for the diagnosis of cerebrovascular diseases. Regarding department members, the source states only: “more than 50 in national-level core journals and provincial journals,” without specifying the action or what is being counted. The department leads 2 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 3 autonomous-region Natural Science Foundation projects, and 1 municipal Natural Science Foundation research project. In addition to daily ultrasound diagnostic work, the department also undertakes undergraduate teaching at Xinjiang Medical University, training master's students specializing in cardiovascular ultrasound, teaching interns, and further training for primary-care physicians. Our department has established long-term collaborative relationships with well-known hospitals in China, including Beijing Fuwai Cardiovascular Hospital and Beijing Anzhen Hospital of Capital Medical University, continuously improving the discipline's level and advancing innovation and progress.
