Interventional Therapy Department
Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
The Department of Interventional Radiology was established in 2005 and was the first traditional Chinese medicine hospital in Xinjiang to carry out interventional diagnosis and treatment. The department has advanced equipment, including Philips FD20 and GE Discovery IGS7 flat-panel angiography systems, a MEDRAD high-pressure contrast injection system, a vascular ultrasound system, optical coherence tomography, an intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation pump, a Philips defibrillator and an anaesthesia machine, together with other life-support and emergency equipment. It has a standard interventional operating room equipped with air purification screens, air disinfection machines and related ancillary facilities, capable of meeting the requirements of all kinds of interventional diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. It has opened green emergency channels for the chest pain centre and the stroke centre, racing against time to save critically ill patients of all ethnic groups across Xinjiang, and has filled many gaps in the hospital's range of interventional procedures. Its work focuses on cardiovascular intervention, comprehensive oncological intervention and neurointervention. Routinely performed interventional procedures include: 1. Percutaneous coronary angiography, percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, percutaneous coronary stent implantation, and implantation of permanent and leadless pacemakers. 2. Comprehensive infusion chemotherapy and embolisation for malignant tumours. 3. Intra-arterial thrombolysis in the ultra-early phase of acute cerebral infarction, intracranial and extracranial vascular stent angioplasty, and aneurysm embolisation. 4. Angiographic examination and imaging of neoplastic and vascular diseases in all parts of the body. 5. Balloon dilatation of lower-limb vessels, stent implantation in lower-limb vessels, and thrombus aspiration from lower-limb vessels. 6. Cardiac radiofrequency ablation, interventional treatment of congenital heart disease, and invasive cardiac electrophysiological examination. 7. Angiography and embolisation for gastrointestinal bleeding and pulmonary haemoptysis. 8. Percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage. 9. Transfemoral catheter-based abdominal aortic stent implantation. 10. Transcatheter aortic valve replacement. 11. Percutaneous coronary transluminal laser angioplasty.
