Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine Department I

The Department II of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine of Xi'an Children's Hospital was established in June 2023. Its scope of work covers pediatric clinical anesthesia, perioperative management, day surgery, outpatient surgery, interventional surgery, endoscopic surgery, and comfort-focused sedation for various examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. It is a Children's Comfort Medical Care Training Base of the Anesthesiologists Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and is a comprehensive department integrating multidisciplinary theories and technologies. It currently has 32 medical and nursing staff, including 16 anesthesiologists, 2 anesthesia nurses, and 14 operating-room nurses. Among them, 1 holds a senior professional title and 18 hold intermediate professional titles. Equipment and facilities: The department currently has 7 operating rooms, including 1 digital subtraction angiography (DSA) operating room. Each operating room is equipped with advanced anesthesia machines, multiparameter monitors, videolaryngoscopes, intravenous micro-infusion pumps, warming blankets, fluid warmers, and other advanced equipment. Scope of services: The department has established a well-developed subspecialty structure and formed distinctive research directions, and has extensive experience in anesthesia for day surgery, anesthesia for outpatient surgery, anesthesia for diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy, anesthesia for interventional surgery, and moderate-to-deep sedation in children. Research and teaching: The department undertakes the teaching of resident physicians, standardized-training physicians, visiting physicians, and nursing interns. Through close collaboration with medical alliances, it promotes appropriate health technologies in Shaanxi Province; it has published several professional papers in national-level journals and 2 SCI papers; it participated in compiling the “Anesthesia Management Manual for Digestive Endoscopic Surgery,” published by the People's Medical Publishing House, and participated in formulating the “Guidelines for the Management of Foreign Bodies in the Digestive Tract in Chinese Children”; the operating-room nursing team received the “2025 National Hospital Operating Department Outstanding Team Management Award,” and the paper submitted for evaluation received the 2025 Excellent Academic Paper Award.
