Special Medical Care General Department
The special-needs ward of Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital of Xiamen University combines internal medicine, surgery, laboratory and diagnostic resources with care, health management and rehabilitation. The hospital describes its equipment as including Asia's first dedicated cardiovascular CT and D-SPECT cardiac imaging. Its multidisciplinary team covers coronary, structural heart, pacing and rehabilitation specialties and develops individualized care plans. Discharged patients receive specialty follow-up according to their condition, with one-to-one follow-up for some high-risk patients. The ward is on the 15th floor of the inpatient building, with a dedicated lift, living facilities and a quiet, private environment. A one-stop priority booking service in the ward covers admission and discharge procedures, diagnostic tests, surgery and consultations. Nursing accompanies patients throughout admission, discharge and examinations; care assistants help with daily living, dietitians prepare individual meals and follow-up staff manage care after discharge. The hospital states that the department has received a most-satisfactory-department designation each year since it opened.
