Family Planning Department

The Department of Family Planning was established in 1978 and currently has three major divisions: the inpatient ward, the outpatient operating room, and the family planning outpatient clinic. It has excellent medical expertise, a strong academic atmosphere, and high-quality nursing. It specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of various reproductive-related complications and difficult and complex conditions; provides medication or surgical technical services for patients who need termination of pregnancy for personal, social, or other reasons, as well as for those who need termination of pregnancy for medical reasons; and provides termination of pregnancy and fertility-preservation technical services for ectopic pregnancies such as cornual pregnancy, cervical pregnancy, and cesarean scar pregnancy. It carries out fertility-regulation technologies such as IUD insertion and removal and tubal recanalization after sterilization. Among these, tubal recanalization was performed here earlier than at any other institution in China, with a recanalization rate of nearly 100% and a pregnancy rate of 88.5%, reaching an advanced level both domestically and internationally.
