Pathology
The Department of Pathology was established in 1955 and is one of the earliest specialized departments of obstetric and gynecologic pathology established in China. It undertakes clinical pathology and cytology diagnosis, teaching, and research for the entire hospital, and provides guidance for obstetric and gynecologic pathological diagnosis and the “two-cancer screening” program throughout the province. After seven decades of inheritance and development, the Department of Pathology has become the largest specialized center for obstetric and gynecologic pathological diagnosis and clinical research in China, with its overall level consistently ranking among the top in the country. The Department of Pathology currently has 55 permanent employees (including 4 experts with senior professional titles and 12 holders of doctoral degrees) and has established a modern molecular pathology center. The Department of Pathology offers a comprehensive range of testing services, including routine histopathological and cytopathological examinations, consultations for difficult pathological cases, fluorescence in situ hybridization, STR genotyping, and next-generation sequencing. The development of a digital and intelligent pathology department has achieved significant results, enabling standardized operations across multiple hospital campuses and remote pathological diagnosis, as well as artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted diagnosis.
