Gynaecologic Oncology

The Department of Gynecologic Oncology is a key discipline of the Zhejiang provincial health authority and, according to the hospital, the province’s only key discipline in gynecologic oncology. It is a provincial center for gynecologic oncology care, research and teaching. It mainly treats benign and malignant tumors arising from female reproductive organs, including the vulva, vagina, cervix, uterine body, ovaries and fallopian tubes, as well as gestational trophoblastic diseases. Emphasizing individualized stratification and minimally invasive treatment, it has developed a comprehensive cancer care system centered on surgery and chemotherapy, combined with radiotherapy, biologic targeted therapy, endocrine therapy and compassionate care. Its strengths and core services include early screening and treatment of cervical disease, standardized initial treatment of ovarian cancer and multidisciplinary care for advanced ovarian cancer, early diagnosis and treatment of endometrial cancer, diagnosis and treatment of gestational trophoblastic tumors, and fertility-preserving treatment of gynecologic malignancies. The hospital reports that these services are nationally leading, with some reaching advanced international levels.
