The Department of Maxillofacial Radiology at West China Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University, was established in the early 1940s and, as part of oral diagnostics, was primarily responsible for taking dental radiographs. In addition to conventional equipment for standard dental radiographs, plain radiographs of the maxilla and mandible, and panoramic tomography, it also has advanced equipment, including direct digital dental radiography, DR, CR, CB-CT, and other advanced equipment. In dental, periodontal, and complex root canal imaging, it holds a leading position in China; it also holds a leading position in fracture and tumor diagnosis, among other areas.
