Oral Orthodontics Department II

The Department of Orthodontics is a National Key Clinical Specialty and is currently a unit serving as a member of the Standing Committee of the Orthodontics Professional Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association and as deputy chair of the Orthodontics Professional Committee of the Shanghai Stomatological Association.

The department has strong clinical and scientific research capabilities and distinctive professional characteristics; it closely follows the forefront of developments in the field both domestically and internationally. Clinically, it primarily provides traditional fixed orthodontic techniques, functional orthodontic techniques, implant anchorage techniques, and other treatments. In recent years, it has also widely provided low-friction self-ligating appliances, esthetic ceramic appliances, bracketless invisible orthodontic techniques, lingual invisible orthodontic techniques, and other treatments, meeting the needs of patients from different groups.

The department makes full use of the advantages of a specialty hospital and, through multidisciplinary collaboration, provides early orthodontic treatment for children, growth and development modification for adolescents, early treatment of skeletal malocclusion, and combined orthodontic and orthognathic surgical treatment, creating more beautiful and confident smiles for a broad range of patients.
