Orthodontics Department I

To promote the development of the discipline and meet the diagnosis and treatment needs of more patients, our hospital has established Department of Orthodontics I and Department of Orthodontics II on the basis of the former Department of Orthodontics. In terms of discipline team development and teaching administration, both departments belong to the Teaching and Research Section of Orthodontics.

As an institution designated as a National Key Clinical Specialty, Department of Orthodontics I has strong capabilities in clinical diagnosis and treatment as well as scientific research and innovation. It is a standing committee member unit of the Orthodontics Professional Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association and a deputy chairperson member unit of the Orthodontics Professional Committee of the Shanghai Stomatological Association.

The discipline keeps pace with domestic and international trends in technological development and has always made the quality of clinical care and service standards its work priorities. It works closely with other disciplines in our hospital, fully leveraging their respective professional strengths, and has achieved satisfactory results, particularly in combined orthodontic–orthognathic surgery, orthodontic–periodontal surgery, and orthodontic–implant restorative treatment for complex adult cases.
