The Department of Anesthesiology of the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Tongji University currently serves as a deputy chair institution of the Anesthesiology Branch of the Shanghai Stomatological Association. The department specializes in anesthesia management for complex and challenging cases and sedation and analgesia treatment for dental phobia in outpatient settings. It has developed distinctive expertise in anesthesia management for various types of oral and maxillofacial surgery and in sedation and analgesia treatment for dental phobia. The department’s diagnostic and treatment services cover various types of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including cleft lip and palate repair, head and neck tumors, orthognathic surgery, oral and maxillofacial plastic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, alveolar surgery, and implant-supported denture restoration. In addition, the outpatient department provides dental treatment under electrocardiographic monitoring for patients with cardiovascular disease. The department also offers painless dental treatment, including dental treatment under sedation or general anesthesia for patients who cannot cooperate with treatment, such as patients with autism or elderly patients with disabilities, as well as patients with severe dental phobia.
