(2)Neuro-oncology: for intracranial tumors (gliomas, meningiomas, pituitary tumors, acoustic neuromas, craniopharyngiomas, central nervous system lymphomas, metastatic brain tumors, etc.) and skull-base tumors (chordomas, chondrosarcomas, etc.), using comprehensive treatment plans including microsurgical neurosurgery, neuroendoscopic surgery (such as the endonasal transsphenoidal approach), and intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring. (3)Craniocerebral trauma: diagnosing and treating scalp injuries, skull fractures (linear, depressed), concussions, cerebral contusions and lacerations, intracranial hematomas (epidural/subdural/intracerebral hematomas), diffuse axonal injuries, and open craniocerebral injuries; providing acute-phase care (life support, hematoma evacuation, decompressive craniectomy), intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring and control, management of complications (hydrocephalus, infection), neurological rehabilitation and arousal-promoting treatment. (4)Functional neurosurgery: diagnosing and treating movement disorders (Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia, etc.), drug-resistant epilepsy, pain (trigeminal neuralgia, cancer pain, etc.), refractory psychiatric diseases (obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression), hemifacial spasm, peripheral nerve entrapment (carpal tunnel syndrome), and arousal promotion for patients in a vegetative state; applying deep brain stimulation (DBS), spinal cord stimulation (SCS), microvascular decompression (MVD), epileptogenic-focus resection and other techniques. (5)Spinal and spinal cord diseases: covering degenerative diseases (cervical spondylosis, lumbar disc herniation, etc.), spinal and spinal cord injuries (fractures, dislocations, paraplegia, etc.), intraspinal/spinal bone tumors (schwannomas, metastatic tumors, etc.), congenital diseases (Chiari malformation, syringomyelia, etc.), spinal vascular diseases (arteriovenous malformations, etc.), and spinal infections (tuberculosis, discitis); providing microsurgery, spinal canal decompression, spinal internal fixation and fusion, and minimally invasive channel/endoscopic spinal surgery. (6)Pediatric neurosurgery: focusing on pediatric neurological diseases, including congenital malformations (hydrocephalus, spina bifida/tethered cord syndrome, craniosynostosis, etc.), common pediatric brain tumors (medulloblastomas, craniopharyngiomas, etc.), pediatric cerebrovascular diseases (arteriovenous malformations, vein of Galen aneurysmal malformations), as well as pediatric epilepsy, pediatric craniocerebral trauma and pediatric cranial stenosis. (7)Neural injury and repair: covering many types, from acute trauma (such as traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury), vascular emergencies (stroke), and chronic progressive diseases (such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease), to immune-mediated conditions (multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barré syndrome) and metabolic or toxic disorders. Its core objective is to maximize the recovery of patients’ neurological functions and improve their quality of life through strategies such as protecting residual neural tissue, promoting regeneration of injured structures (axons, myelin sheaths and neurons), replacing lost functions (such as through cell transplantation), and optimizing rehabilitation training. (8)Brain science research: focusing on the higher functions of the brain (cognition, emotion and consciousness) and related diseases, involving neurodegenerative diseases, developmental diseases, psychiatric diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, brain tumors and disorders of consciousness. Through technologies such as brain imaging and neural-circuit tracing, it analyzes the mechanisms of brain-network connectivity and functional regulation, promotes development in fields such as brain-computer interfaces and brain-inspired intelligence, and contributes to brain health and disease prevention and treatment.
