Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Gastroenterology Department

The Department of Paediatric Infectious Diseases and Gastroenterology was founded in the 1960s and is a centre for the diagnosis and treatment of complex and critical infectious and digestive diseases in children. It is the home institution of the editors-in-chief of the second, third, fourth and fifth editions of Paediatric Infectious Diseases published by the People's Medical Publishing House, and its gastroenterology specialty is a Ministry of Health key clinical specialty. The discipline leader, Professor Shu Sainan, currently serves as head of the Infectious Diseases Group of the Chinese Medical Association's Paediatrics Branch, a member of the Childhood Liver Disease and Infection Group of the Infectious Diseases Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and vice chair of the Youth Committee of the Microecology Branch of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association.
