Stroke Center

Zhejiang Provincial Tongde Hospital Stroke Center is a “Stroke Center” of the Chinese Stroke Society, a member institution of the China Stroke Center Alliance, and a “Stroke Prevention and Treatment Center” of Zhejiang Province. Under the unified leadership of the hospital Party Committee and the Medical Affairs Department, our hospital’s Stroke Center was established on May 30, 2018, bringing together the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Emergency Medicine, Rehabilitation, ICU, Anesthesiology, Radiology, Laboratory Medicine, and other departments to establish a hybrid stroke center led by Neurology; at the same time, it established regional collaboration for stroke referrals with member institutions of the provincial specialty alliance for integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in neurology. Our hospital’s Stroke Center can perform various cerebrovascular treatment techniques, including intravenous thrombolysis within the time window for acute ischemic stroke, intra-arterial and intravenous thrombolysis based on integrated perfusion assessment beyond the time window, bridging mechanical thrombectomy, angioplasty and stent implantation, stent-assisted coil embolization of aneurysms, arteriovenous malformation embolization and conventional resection for hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease, carotid endarterectomy for carotid artery stenosis, and decompressive craniectomy for malignant cerebral infarction. Our center emphasizes and advocates a holistic, long-term intervention model combining the prevention and treatment of cerebrovascular disease; it actively conducts screening and diagnosis for various cerebrovascular diseases, while providing patients with comprehensive and precise assessment and treatment techniques through an MDT multidisciplinary collaboration model for cerebrovascular disease. The integrated prevention and treatment of cerebrovascular disease using traditional Chinese and Western medicine is our technical strength and distinctive positioning.
