Dentistry
Our Department of Stomatology is one of the largest dental diagnosis and treatment units in western Hangzhou, established in August 1994. The outpatient services are distributed across the three campuses of the Main Hospital on Gucui Road, the Second Outpatient Department on Tianmushan Road, and the Zhijiang Campus, covering more than 1,300 square meters in total, with 35 comprehensive treatment chairs, 2 implant operating rooms, and 4 open beds. It is a member unit of the Prosthodontics Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association, a council unit of the Zhejiang Stomatological Association, and a member unit of the Orthodontics and Prosthodontics Committees of the Zhejiang Stomatological Association. Integrating medical care, health care, teaching, and scientific research, it handles approximately more than 50,000 outpatient and emergency visits annually and admits more than 100 inpatients.
The Department of Stomatology currently has 31 doctors, including 2 chief physicians, 4 deputy chief physicians, 8 attending physicians, 1 doctor with a doctoral degree, and 22 doctors with master's degrees, as well as 3 nurses. To promote the development of the department, in recent years 3 staff members have been sent as visiting scholars to the University of Siena in Italy and the University of Tennessee in the United States, while many others have undertaken further training at well-known domestic universities. They have mastered a number of internationally advanced technologies, laying a solid foundation for the department's continued development.
Our department is fully equipped with specialized facilities and has strong medical and technical capabilities. Its diagnostic and treatment services include dental implants; diseases of the dental pulp and hard tissues; periodontal diseases; mucosal diseases; traditional prosthetic treatment of dentition defects and missing teeth; correction of irregular dentition; and oral and maxillofacial surgery. The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery section treats patients with oral and maxillofacial inflammation, trauma, tumors, and alveolar diseases, and comprehensively performs various complex major operations, such as “total parotidectomy and malignant tumor resection + facial nerve dissection,” “combined radical resection of oral and maxillofacial malignant tumors and lymph node dissection,” and “internal fixation of multiple jaw fractures using micro-titanium plates and absorbable polymer plates.” The department focuses on introducing the latest diagnostic and treatment methods from China and abroad, and its treatment technologies are aligned with international standards. Its precision restoration of dental implants and natural teeth is at a leading level nationally and within Zhejiang Province, and has also received high praise from foreign experts.
