Haematology

The Hematology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established in 1972, with the famous Tianjin traditional Chinese medicine expert Tao Jianxiu as its head at the time. Through the unremitting efforts of many experts including Dai Ximeng, Yang Xueshuang, Yang Wenhua and Shi Zhexin, the department has developed into the largest specialty department in Tianjin for the treatment of blood diseases with traditional Chinese medicine and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, a key discipline and key specialty of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a key specialty of the Tianjin Municipal Health Bureau, a construction unit of national and Tianjin key specialties with advantages in traditional Chinese medicine, a standardized diagnosis and treatment center for ITP of the Chinese Medical Association, and a national demonstration ward for standardized CINV management.

It has 85 open beds, including 5 laminar flow rooms and 4 laminar flow purification hoods, and hosts Tianjin famous TCM inheritance studios (Yang Wenhua Inheritance Studio and Shi Zhexin Inheritance Studio). It has 3 chief physicians, 7 associate chief physicians, 2 doctoral supervisors and 6 master's supervisors, 1 instructor for the seventh batch of national inheritance of academic experience of senior TCM experts, 2 Tianjin famous TCM physicians, 1 national outstanding TCM clinical talent, 2 inheritors of the sixth and seventh batches of national academic experience of senior TCM experts, 2 inheritors of academic experience of Tianjin TCM experts, and 1 Tianjin "131" talent. It is the vice-chair unit of the Hematology Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, the vice-chair unit of the Integrative Leukemia Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association, the vice-chairman unit of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Integrative Hematology Alliance, the chair unit of the Hematology Committee of the Tianjin Association of Integrative Medicine, the chair unit of the Traditional Tumor Medicine Committee of the Tianjin Anti-Cancer Association, the vice-chair unit of the Syndrome Pharmacology Committee of the Tianjin Pharmacological Society, the standing committee unit of the Hematology Committee of the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, the standing committee unit of the Integrative Ovarian Cancer Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association, the standing committee unit of the Lymphoma Committee of the Tianjin Association of Integrative Medicine, the standing committee unit of the Tianjin Medical Doctor Association, the standing committee unit of the Tumor Committee of the Tianjin Association of Integrative Medicine, the standing committee unit of the Integrative Tumor Treatment Committee of the Tianjin Anti-Cancer Association, and the standing committee unit of the Cancer Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Committee of the Tianjin Anti-Cancer Association.

After more than 50 years of extensive clinical practice and experimental research, the department has accumulated rich experience in the treatment of aplastic anemia, acute and chronic leukemia, immune thrombocytopenia, malignant lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome, myeloproliferative neoplasms and iron deficiency anemia, and has created characteristic therapies such as "tonifying the kidney, resolving phlegm and activating blood circulation for aplastic anemia", "integrated Chinese and Western medicine unit therapy for acute leukemia", and "replenishing qi, nourishing yin and detoxifying to eliminate minimal residual disease and reverse leukemia drug resistance".

It has obtained more than 40 research projects at various levels, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China. It has published hundreds of academic papers, served as chief editor of 2 national textbooks and 3 monographs, deputy chief editor of 1 textbook, and participated in the compilation of more than 10 textbooks and monographs. Its academic influence extends to North China, Northeast China, East China, Central China and other regions, and it provides integrated Chinese and Western medicine hematology diagnosis and treatment services to patients worldwide.
