Colorectal and Anal Surgery

The Colorectal and Anal Surgery Department is an important branch of Sun Yat-sen University Sixth Hospital’s national key general-surgery specialty, with four wards and 240 beds. It offers integrated diagnosis, treatment, nutrition, psychological support, surgery and follow-up for colorectal and anal disease. A South China rectal-cancer joint center provides one-stop multidisciplinary review, advanced laparoscopy and leading low rectal cancer sphincter-preserving surgery, with more than 500 laparoscopic colorectal resections annually.
