II. New Technology Showcase
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): A structured, short-term, cognitive-oriented psychotherapy method, mainly targeting psychological disorders such as depression and anxiety, as well as psychological problems caused by irrational cognitions. Its main focus is on the patient's irrational cognitive problems; it changes psychological problems by changing the patient's views and attitudes toward themselves, other people, or things.
Family Therapy: A group psychotherapy model implemented with the family as its subject. Its goal is to help the family eliminate abnormal and pathological conditions and perform healthy family functions. Characteristics of family therapy: it does not focus on analyzing the inner psychological structures and states of individual family members, but instead focuses on the interactions and relationships among family members; it explains individual behavior and problems from the perspective of the family system; individual change depends on change in the family as a whole.
Sandplay Therapy: With the therapist's accompaniment, the client freely selects small miniatures from a shelf containing various miniature models (toys), places them in a specially designed container (sandtray) filled with fine sand, and creates certain scenes. The therapist then uses Jung's theory of “mental images” to analyze the client's work. Sandplay therapy is based on the psychoanalytic theory of the unconscious, emphasizes empathy and attunement, and brings the roles of archetypes and symbolism into play in the “sandtray,” thereby achieving an integrated effect of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy.
Psychoanalysis: To uncover conflicts or pathogenic complexes in the unconscious of the patient or client, bring them into the field of consciousness, enable the person seeking treatment to gain insight into them, correct or eliminate them under the guidance of the reality principle, and establish a correct and healthy psychological structure, thereby achieving recovery from the illness.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Training: It is intended to supplement (rather than replace) conventional medical treatment. Its purpose is to teach patients to use their own inner physical and mental strength to actively do something for their physical and mental health that no one else can do for them—cultivate mindfulness. Patients participating in the program usually suffer from different physical or psychological illnesses, including headaches, hypertension, back pain, heart disease, cancer, AIDS, asthma, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, skin diseases, stress-related gastrointestinal disorders, sleep disorders, anxiety and panic disorders, and so on.
Group Psychotherapy: During treatment, group members discuss issues of common concern, observe and analyze psychological and behavioral responses, emotional experiences, and interpersonal relationships related to themselves and others, thereby improving their own behavior. The main characteristic of group psychotherapy is that, as time progresses, group members naturally form a group relationship and atmosphere characterized by closeness, cooperation, mutual assistance, and mutual support. This relationship provides every patient with an opportunity to interact with other group members, enabling them to try to face life from another perspective, gain a deeper understanding of their own problems by observing and analyzing the problems of others, and solve their own problems with the help of others.
