Ophthalmology
I. Department Introduction
The Department of Ophthalmology of Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital, also known as the Liaoning Eye Disease Prevention and Control Center, was the earliest institution in the province to carry out ophthalmic laser treatment. It is a national and provincial resident physician training base and an affiliated teaching hospital of Dalian Medical University. The department routinely performs various ophthalmic surgeries and treatments for fundus diseases such as retinal vein occlusion and macular degeneration, including laser treatment for diabetic retinopathy, strabismus surgery, glaucoma surgery, simulated artificial eye implant surgery, eye tumor removal, orbital wall fracture repair, complex ocular trauma surgery, and small-incision cataract surgery. Specialized pediatric ophthalmologists provide the most advanced and cutting-edge treatment methods for pediatric strabismus, amblyopia, and adolescent myopia, and combine traditional optometry with modern technological methods to achieve the goal of scientific optometry. The suturing techniques for ocular trauma are comparable to cosmetic suturing techniques. The department actively participates in public welfare activities and assists disadvantaged groups. In recent years, it has repeatedly joined forces with Korean ophthalmology experts to conduct charitable free cataract surgery campaigns. The department currently has 14 medical and nursing staff members, including 3 master's degree holders and 4 chief physicians. Five technicians and nursing staff members have bachelor's degrees or higher.
