Interventional Diagnosis and Treatment Center

The Interventional Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University was founded in 1994. It has an independent catheterization laboratory, ward and clinic, 4 imported digital-subtraction angiography systems, portable ultrasound, 21 beds and about 12,000 procedures a year. Thirty staff perform tumor embolization, biopsy, ablation and particle implantation; TIPS and portal-hypertension procedures; and peripheral, emergency, gynecologic, airway, gastrointestinal and biliary interventions. The team includes 1 doctor, 1 doctoral student and 6 master's physicians; emergency procedures are about 20%.
