Cardiac and Great Vessels Surgery Department V
Department V of Cardiac and Great Vessel Surgery specializes in the surgical treatment of acquired heart disease in adults. Its current principal diagnostic and therapeutic scope includes coronary artery disease, valvular disease, aortic disease, and congenital heart disease. Routinely performed operations include coronary artery bypass grafting, cardiac valve repair and replacement, the modified Maze procedure, surgery for aortic aneurysms and aortic dissections, and the surgical treatment of various congenital heart diseases. The department has particular expertise in minimally invasive small-incision surgery for coronary artery disease, minimally invasive valve repair and atrial fibrillation ablation, correction of congenital heart disease through cosmetic incisions, and valve repair. The department actively participates in the development of a green channel for inter-hospital consultations and emergency care. In recent years, it has jointly completed multiple cardiac rupture repairs with partner hospitals; all patients recovered fully and were discharged from the hospital. It has also participated in major in-hospital scientific research projects and other foundational innovation work, including work involving the left ventricular assist device (LVAD), small-caliber artificial vascular graft implantation, a clinical study on the use of the novel PET myocardial fatty-acid metabolism imaging agent XTR003 injection to detect viable myocardium, human iPSC-derived cardiomyocyte transplantation, and heart transplantation.
