Internal Medicine Department IV

Specializes in the clinical diagnosis and treatment and basic research of various types of cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease, cardiomyopathy, structural heart disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, etc. Independently and comprehensively conducts a full range of cardiovascular interventional diagnostic and treatment procedures, with extensive experience in complex coronary interventions, pacing and electrophysiology, left atrial appendage occlusion, closure of congenital heart defects, cardiac resynchronization therapy for heart failure, and more. Actively introduces new technologies and develops new services, such as FFR (fractional flow reserve), IVUS (intravascular ultrasound), ICE (intracardiac echocardiography), and OCT (optical coherence tomography), to guide precision coronary treatment. The hospital’s Syncope Center and Pacing and Electrophysiology Center are both located in the Department of Internal Medicine IV. In addition to being primarily responsible for the hospital’s syncope outpatient services, the Department of Internal Medicine IV also undertakes the clinical and research work related to pacemaker programming follow-up and radiofrequency ablation of tachyarrhythmias (including cryoablation for atrial fibrillation).

Since its establishment, the Department of Internal Medicine IV has undertaken teaching responsibilities for Tianjin Medical University and Chengde Medical University, led 2 scientific research projects in Tianjin Municipality and Binhai New Area, and published numerous scientific research papers internationally and domestically.
