Anaesthesia and Operative Services Centre

The Anesthesia and Surgery Center of Taikang Xianlin Gulou Hospital is a secondary clinical discipline integrating medical care, teaching, and research, and is a key medical specialty in Nanjing. The department is equipped with 26 high-standard operating rooms, 2 post-anesthesia care units (with a total of 16 beds), 1 pain clinic outside the operating rooms, and 2 pain treatment rooms. It currently has 63 medical and nursing staff members, including 19 anesthesiologists (7 with senior professional titles, 8 with intermediate professional titles, and 4 with junior professional titles), 15 anesthesia nurses, and 29 operating room nurses. The department is equipped with advanced medical devices, including cerebral oxygen monitors, depth-of-anesthesia monitors, fiberoptic bronchoscopes, video laryngoscopes, blood gas analyzers, cell salvage machines, portable ultrasound systems, radiofrequency treatment devices, shock wave therapy devices, warming devices, and others. All operating rooms are equipped with Drager anesthesia machines, multiparameter monitors, high-definition endoscopic systems, and other equipment. The department’s scope of work covers clinical anesthesia, pain diagnosis and treatment, comfortable medical care (painless gastrointestinal endoscopy, painless childbirth, painless fiberoptic bronchoscopy, examinations under sedation and analgesia, diagnosis and treatment of cancer pain, etc.), and anesthesia nursing units. The department has published more than 30 articles in SCI-indexed and core journals, led 1 Nanjing municipal research fund project and 5 hospital-level research fund projects, and obtained more than 20 utility model patents.
